Coenzyme Q10 (ubiquinone)
is part of every living cell, where it plays a role in the creation of energy (ATP) for the whole body.
As a powerful antioxidant, it also reduces oxidative stress. In this way, it protects skin cells against the premature ageing caused by UV rays, alcohol consumption, smog, cigarette smoke and stress. All these factors lead to the formation of free radicals - unstable, highly reactive molecules that among other things cause permanent damage to collagen and elastin fibres. Coenzyme Q10 effectively reduces or neutralises their power.
Vitamin E (tocopherol)
is the principal lipophilic antioxidant in the skin and is found in all its layers. It protects the skin against the damage caused by the action of free radicals and consequently has a powerful anti-age effect.
It also protects the lipids and lipoproteins of cell membranes against oxidation and preserves their capacity to bind moisture. It therefore functions indirectly as a moisturiser and improves skin elasticity.
For all the above reasons it has even been proclaimed one of the best all-round cosmetically active ingredients.
Within the texture of Q10 BOOST creams it can be found in the form of red milli-capsules that are "dissolved" by massage on application and in this way activated immediately before absorption into the skin. This is an encapsulated form of vitamin E that guarantees it optimal stability and even greater effectiveness.
Rosehip oil
especially notable for its high essential fatty acid content, with linoleic acid and linolenic acid accounting for almost 80%. These give the oil an intensive nurturing, protective and regenerative effect. Rosehip oil is also valued for its all-trans retinoic acid content, which has a rejuvenating effect: it boosts collagen, reduces wrinkles and smooths the surface of the skin.
